The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly still in the hunt for a third team to sign DeAndre Jordan, but three teams have emerged as possible destinations. Three teams that could sign him include the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks.

The los angeles clippers are a team that can sign him if the Clippers deal falls apart. Other teams in play for Paul include the Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Kawhi Leonard is a highly desired free agent after opting out of the last year of his $36 million deal. With Leonard on almost every team’s wish list, there are only a few clubs that he would consider, particularly because he wants to play for a contender and is more than likely asking for a max contract. Now that there’s no assurance Leonard will return to the Clippers as anticipated, it’s generally believed he’ll speak with other teams to consider his choices.

The one caveat is that he’ll be out for a significant chunk of the 2021-22 NBA season after undergoing surgery to repair a partly torn ACL. After all of that, let’s take a look at three hypothetical clubs that might sign Kawhi Leonard if his contract negotiations with the Clippers fall through.

Dallas Mavericks are a professional basketball team based in Dallas, Texas

This move would not only delight franchise star Luka Doncic, but it would also provide the Mavericks with the league’s most complete star combination, putting them in contention for the championship. Kawhi Leonard, perhaps the best two-way player in the game, would be an excellent complement to Luka Doncic’s game and provide him with a great deal of relief on both sides of the court. With their court vision, rebounding, active hands, and well-rounded offensive skills, Leonard and Doncic would create the league’s most unstoppable superstar duo.

Dallas would become a trade deadline and free agency hotspot with the acquisition of Kawhi Leonard, providing Luka with much more assistance than he could have anticipated. This would provide the Mavericks with their long-awaited future contender while also appeasing their unhappy superstar. Dallas has the financial room and assets to pull off a sign-and-trade for the two-time NBA champion and All-Star forward.

The 76ers are a basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The 76ers may not have the most cap space, but they do have a dissatisfied star in Ben Simmons, who seems unwilling to return to the club. Granted, he has offensive flaws, but he’s just 25 years old and has lots of time to develop into a more versatile danger on the offensive end. Tyronn Lue, the Clippers’ head coach, is the only coach who can get through to him and bring out the best in him.

Kawhi Leonard, on the other hand, would become the Sixers championship favorites and create an explosive tandem with Joel Embiid. Plus, with a supporting cast that includes Seth Curry, Furkan Korkmaz, Matisse Thybulle, Tobias Harris, and now Andre Drummond, the Sixers would have a deep and dynamic team capable of taking the league by storm on their route to many championships.

Not to mention that this trade would reunite Leonard with Danny Green, a former teammate and close buddy who is one of the best 3-and-D players in the NBA. The Sixers may not have budget space, but a young talent like Ben Simmons, who is still a bit rough around the edges, coupled with some draft choices, would be a very feasible sign-and-trade for them.

Warriors of Golden State

After signing franchise superstar Stephen Curry to a max contract, the Warriors have very little financial space, but they have significant trade assets and young talent that may make a sign-and-trade scenario involving Kawhi Leonard extremely feasible. If Leonard joins the Warriors, they will have one of the best starting lineups in NBA history.

The Warriors would become the greatest scoring, 3-point shooting, and defensive team in the NBA with Curry, Leonard, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Golden State would have to give up a lot in exchange for Leonard’s injury-plagued status, but with their top-notch training staff and winning mentality, they’d be willing to wait out Leonard’s return to full health.

This would also ensure that Kawhi Leonard could end his career fighting for championships with the best scoring backcourt in NBA history and a fellow Defensive Player Of The Year award winner. Golden State would get another big four player in Leonard, which may help them return to the NBA Finals.
