Russell Westbrook is the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month for December. The Oklahoma City Thunder guard has been on an absolute tear, scoring 30+ points in 19 consecutive games and averaging a triple-double over that span. With his shooting stroke back to peak form and 4th place standing on Christmas Day, Lakers teammates have taken notice when it comes to Russell Westbrook.

Russell Westbrook sent a strong message to his Lakers teammates following their 0-4 start. The Oklahoma City Thunder star said the team will not be held accountable for what’s happened so far this season. Read more in detail here: russell westbrook news.

Following a defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were deflated, and Russell Westbrook did not hold back with a message to his team as they dropped to 13-13.

The Lakers started well but couldn’t maintain their lead in a 108-95 defeat against the Grizzlies, who were without five players, including Ja Morant and Dillion Brooks. In the encounter, Westbrook was a minus-16, scoring just 9 points while adding 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

Following the defeat, the former MVP, who isn’t afraid to voice his thoughts, issued a direct message to his team.

After the game, Westbrook told reporters, “We know what we’re supposed to do.” “Regardless of who’s playing, we know when we’re meant to take and win games.” But this is the NBA, and these players are just as professional as we are. We need to do a better job of rising to the occasion, because we know that when it comes to facing the Los Angeles Lakers, we’ll get everyone’s best shot. We’ve known it since the beginning of the year.”

“We realize it,” the Lakers guard said, “but we have to be able to own our s–t.”

After the game, Anthony Davis takes a different approach.

When the season began, the Lakers were considered one of the top two contenders, but they haven’t lived up to their expectations. Instead, LA has been poor at best, as seen by their.500 record.

Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers believes the club has to abandon all notions of being a championship contender and begin playing with desperation.

“These guys already feel like underdogs when they come in,” Davis told reporters. “Especially when they’re without their great players.” “And we had to play as though we were underdogs.” Which, at this stage in the season, with the way we’ve been playing, we probably are.”

Davis is aware that the Lakers have a bullseye on their backs due to the roster’s makeup.

“I believe we have to lock in even more when their great players are gone because these guys have no conscience,” Davis said. “They want to come in and defeat the Lakers, LeBron, AD, whomever, Melo,” he said. They want to be able to say things like, “I gave the Lakers 30, 25, whatever.”

Against the Grizzlies, the Lakers are decimated by turnovers.

The Lakers’ biggest problem against the Grizzlies was turnovers, as they gave the ball away 22 times, resulting in 27 points for Memphis.

“After we had that early lead, our turnovers went significantly up, we didn’t rebound the basketball, we were sluggish to every loose ball, and there was just too much of a casualness to our approach,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “It wasn’t really a big advantage, but we simply became a little too relaxed.”

While it won’t be a quick cure, the Lakers will keep tinkering until they find the proper mix and chemistry.

After the game, Lakers star LeBron James stated, “Obviously, it’s been hard.” “Inconsistent lineups and minutes spent with particular players.” You have to aim to be in the plus and do what the man before you was able to do whenever you’re on the floor with whomever you’re on the floor with. You attempt to pick him up if he was able to create a lead or if he wasn’t performing well. But it’s undoubtedly been difficult.”

On Friday, the Lakers complete a back-to-back set against the Thunder.
