“It’s a crazy dynamic,” Jordan said from the players’ locker room before Wednesday night’s game. “You got guys here who have been playing for so long and then you’ve got me coming in, trying to steal their spot…I’m just trying to make it competitive.”

The “Michael Jordan might be an NBA executive, but the Bulls legend still acts like a player among his Hornets stars: ‘It’s a crazy dynamic.’” is an article that discusses Michael Jordan’s role as owner of the Charlotte Hornets. It talks about how he is able to act like a player among his players and how it has created a unique environment for the team. Read more in detail here: michael jordan owns what team.

Michael Jordan was perhaps the best NBA player to ever play for the Chicago Bulls, but he has not been a terrific executive for the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte has been one of the weakest teams in the league throughout Jordan’s stint as governor, either failing to reach the playoffs or falling in the first round.

However, it looks that MJ has one outstanding skill as a CEO that might considerably aid his company’s possible ascent to the top. Jordan’s player, Kelly Oubre Jr., claims that His Airness treats the Hornets’ players like peers rather than bosses.

The Charlotte Hornets, led by Michael Jordan, have been chronic losers.

Michael Jordan purchased the Hornets (formerly known as the Bobcats) in 2010, and although they had little success before he took them, they have somehow managed to accomplish less under MJ.

Charlotte has only been existed since 1988-89, yet between that season and 2008-09, they reached the playoffs seven times. However, with the former Bulls great in charge, the team has only made three playoff visits, all of which have ended in first-round losses.

The 2020-21 season, on the other hand, was one of their most promising in years. They improved from 23-42 to 33-39 and qualified for the NBA playoffs. LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier were key to their success, and they’ve subsequently helped MJ feel better about the team’s path. The Hornets are 16-16 so far this season, and not only has Ball improved, but Miles Bridges has also made significant strides.

So maybe, just maybe, Jordan’s team has a promising future ahead of them. And if that’s the case, his favorable attribute might be rather useful.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is off to a good start in his debut season with the Hornets. He’s averaging 16.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, and he’s shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from 3-point range, all career highs (37.7 percent ).

Oubre recently spoke with the Arizona Republic on what it’s like to play for one of the best players of all time.

“It’s a strange dynamic because, in my view, that’s the finest player to ever play basketball,” he remarked. “It’s insane that he’s my supervisor and my owner at the same time….” He’s the greatest competitor of all time, so anytime he’s there, he simply pushes me, as well as the rest of the team. But, more importantly, he has that ‘Come on, dude, you know better than that s***’ attitude. But, rather than speaking to you as a boss or an owner, he speaks to you as a player, a peer. So that’s one thing I like about him, particularly given his size and personality.”

Jordan’s standing as one of the NBA’s all-time greats might cause him to believe he’s too good for his teammates and that he doesn’t need to treat them like his peers, as Oubre said. However, it seems that he does the exact opposite, which might be critical for the organization’s future success.

Michael Jordan’s excellent attributes might be critical to the Hornets’ long-term success.

Michael Jordan understands what it’s like to have a strained relationship with a team’s front office. His feuds with former Chicago Bulls general manager Jerry Krause were well-documented throughout his playing days. As a result, he seems to realize that as long as he treats his stars with respect, they are likely to want to remain in Charlotte.

His Hornets squad is mostly of inexperienced players, with just Terry Rozier contracted beyond the 2023-24 season. If MJ wants his team to keep improving, his players must be content and committed to winning in Charlotte, not somewhere else. We’ve seen what happens when a superstar and the front office don’t get along; just ask LeBron James about his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although owner Dan Gilbert may not have been the primary cause for LeBron’s departure, if they had a strong connection, James may have remained.

Overall, Jordan has a good roster in Charlotte, and his connections with his players may become vital if he wants to keep this youthful core together.
