Major changes coming to the Los Angeles Marathon and its surrounding areas, including closures on Sixth Street Bridge.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBSLA) – There are numerous planned traffic closures, including a large length of the 101 Freeway and the streets that will be taken over by the LA Marathon, so Angelenos with weekend plans may want to leave the vehicle at home.

The road will be stopped for the second time to allow workmen to finish removing bridge falsework as part of the $688 million Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project, which will benefit Los Angeles traffic. There will also be sidewalks, bike lanes, and a 12-acre park.
