You’d think a minigolf game would have a solid physics system, but Minigolf Adventure makes every single ball seem like a heavy weight. It’s just not enjoyable to play, and no amount of diversity can compensate for its flawed foundations.

The world of minigolf knows no boundaries or races, with its pint-sized courses, multicolored balls, and zany hazards. Revulo Games’ portable-friendly adaptation Minigolf Adventure aims to bridge the gap for individuals who don’t have access to a course nearby. Unfortunately, it turns out that this release is a poor substitute for the genuine thing.

Minigolf Adventure

Those who have played on more conventional courses will find Minigolf Adventure to be a more relaxing experience. Courses have shrunk in size, par counts have risen, and even the holes have been enlarged. While the goal remains the same – get the ball into the hole at the other end of the course – the game has been simplified to its most basic aspects.

The control mechanism used here has also been simplified. After selecting the right camera angle, the player may aim their ball in the desired direction while keeping an eye on the power meter. As the power level increases and lowers, players pick when they want it to stop and then execute their stroke. There’s no need to be concerned about a three-click meter as in Everybody’s Golf or a two-click system like in Mario Golf: At its foundation, Super Rush is a basic mechanism. Doesn’t it seem to be simple enough?

While the main gameplay features of Minigolf Adventure are adequate, the game’s flawed physics are difficult to tolerate. Each ball seems like a lead weight as it rolls along, scarcely gaining any velocity. Looking to obtain the ideal photo by bouncing against a wall? No, that’s not going to happen; instead, it’ll come to a halt as soon as you meet a stumbling block. Hills seem to work alright, but anything beyond that will be a waste of time.

With its force field technology, things get much more difficult. Different fields with magnetic qualities, greater friction, or a continuous force in a different direction may be found at certain levels. With these factors in play, what was already proving to be a challenging situation becomes much more difficult.

Unfortunately, they don’t do much to break up the title’s general dullness. The worlds are uninspired “Forest,” “Frozen,” and “Desert” themes, each with a certain amount of holes. Unlike individuals who visit their local Scandia or Golfland (Californians will recognize the names), there are less challenges to overcome. While it would have been entertaining to see a massive castle, windmill, or dragon appear, there isn’t much to see other than the odd wall. It’s a significant omission that stops Minigolf Adventure from having any kind of individuality.

In Arcade Mode, players must gather a certain number of diamonds before sinking their shot on each hole. Each hole is rated from one to three stars, with more stars unlocking alternative colored balls, including 8-balls and soccer balls, in addition to the basic white ball. It doesn’t help much with the monotony of it all, but it’s welcomed anyway.

Aside from the primary Arcade Option, players may try Quick Play, which has no extra rules, High Score, which focuses on completing tasks in less time and with fewer shots, a turn-based Hot Seat mode, and a Race mode, which sees participants playing speed golf. The course selection in Arcade Mode is restricted, but there are still plenty of possibilities to pick from.

You’d think a minigolf game would have a solid physics system, but Minigolf Adventure makes every single ball seem like a heavy weight. It’s just not enjoyable to play, and no amount of diversity can compensate for its flawed foundations.

This Minigolf Adventure overeview was conducted on the Nintendo Switch. The game was downloaded from the internet.

Even now, suggesting that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy follows the old-school approach to game creation seems weird. It’s a narrative-driven single-player game. It’s just a good ol’ fashioned game, and a bloody fantastic one at that. There are no microtransactions, no shop, no pointless multiplayer component slapped on, no game as a service; it’s just a good ol’ fashioned game, and a bloody incredible one at that.

We’d like to believe our dogs are going to a better place when they leave us for the rainbow bridge. Purple Tree, on the other hand, has something considerably more bleak in mind for these furry friends with their new sports game Pets No More. Should pets be brought back to life for some arcade fun, or should this game be retired?
